Primo quidem non intrat Moses ad Pharaonem, sed occurrit ei exeunti ad aquas; postea vero intrat; post hæc nec intrat, sed accersitus accedit: quia sive nobis in verbo Dei et assertione religionis certamen est cum Pharaone, sive obsessas ab eo animas eripere conamur, et est in nobis in disputatione luctamen, non prima fronte ingredi debemus ad ultima quæstionum loca, sed occurrendum est nobis adversario, et ad aquas suas, id est, auctoritates gentium philosophorum, ut ipsos primo arguamus et errasse doceamus; deinde ingrediendum ad interiora certaminis.
