Note: This view shows ‘verses’ which are not natural language units and hence sometimes only part of a sentence will be visible. Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed as a tool for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result
שְׁבָ֤ה אִתִּי֙ אַל־תִּירָ֔א כִּ֛י אֲשֶׁר־יְבַקֵּ֥שׁ אֶת־נַפְשִׁ֖י יְבַקֵּ֣שׁ אֶת־נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ
stay, with,me not afraid that/for/because/then/when which/who seeks DOM life_of,my seeks DOM life_of,your
If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Alternate translation: [Since he who seeks my life seeks your life, stay with me, do not be afraid]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
אֲשֶׁר־יְבַקֵּ֥שׁ אֶת־נַפְשִׁ֖י יְבַקֵּ֣שׁ אֶת־נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ
which/who seeks DOM life_of,my seeks DOM life_of,your
See how you translated this expression in [20:1](../20/01.md). Alternate translation: [he who is seeking to end my life is seeking to end your life] or [he who is seeking to kill me is seeking to kill you]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns
כִּֽי־מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת אַתָּ֖ה עִמָּדִֽי
that/for/because/then/when safe you(ms) with=me
If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of protection, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [I will surely protect you]
