Moses is speaking of the enemies’ gods as if they were the vine and vineyards that produced poisonous fruit. He means that worshiping these gods lead to destructive and evil outcomes. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express this as a comparison or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [For their gods are like vines from Sodom and vineyards from Gomorrah] or [For their gods come from wickedness like Sodom and Gomorrah]

Moses is speaking of the Israelites’ enemies as if they were grapes and clusters that were poisonous and bitter. He means that these enemies are corrupt and destructive in their character and actions. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a comparable figure of speech or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [their deeds are corrupt and destructive] or [they are poisonous and bitter in their character]

Moses is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [For their vine comes from the vine of Sodom, and their vine comes from the vineyards of Gomorrah; therefore their grapes are grapes of poison, and bitter clusters are what they produce]
