Moses is speaking of God as if he were a high Rock that they could climb up to reach safety from danger. He also uses this image of the false gods of the enemies as if they were a rock that those people look to for protection. The point of the comparison is to show the vast difference in power and reliability between Yahweh and the false gods. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [our God is far more powerful and reliable than their gods]
