OET (OET-LV) Do_not listen to Ḩizqiyyāh if/because thus the_king_of he_says of_ʼAshshūr make with_me a_blessing and_come_out to_me and_eat everyone_of vine_of_his_own and_everyone_of fig_tree_of_his_own and_drink everyone the_water_of his_own_cistern_of_his.
OET (OET-RV) Don’t listen to Hizkiyah because the Assyrian king is offering you all a chance to come out of the city and surrender. In exchange for saving me some trouble, you’ll be able to drink fresh water again and enjoy the fruit off your own trees out here
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
אַֽל־תִּשְׁמְע֖וּ אֶל־חִזְקִיָּ֑הוּ
not (Some words not found in UHB: not listen to/towards Ḩizqiyyāh that/for/because/then/when thus he/it_had_said king ʼAshshūr make with,me peace and,come_out to=me and,eat (a)_man vine_of,his_own and,everyone_of fig_tree_of,his_own and,drink (a)_man water_of his_own_cistern_of,his )
To translate the term “listen” here and in the next verse, see how you translated the similar expression in [10:6](../10/06.md). Alternate translation: [Do not do what Hezekiah wants you to do here]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / quotesinquotes
כִּי֩ כֹ֨ה אָמַ֜ר מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֗וּר עֲשֽׂוּ־אִתִּ֤י בְרָכָה֙ וּצְא֣וּ אֵלַ֔י וְאִכְל֤וּ אִישׁ־גַּפְנוֹ֙ וְאִ֣ישׁ תְּאֵֽנָת֔וֹ וּשְׁת֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ מֵֽי־בוֹרֽוֹ
(Some words not found in UHB: not listen to/towards Ḩizqiyyāh that/for/because/then/when thus he/it_had_said king ʼAshshūr make with,me peace and,come_out to=me and,eat (a)_man vine_of,his_own and,everyone_of fig_tree_of,his_own and,drink (a)_man water_of his_own_cistern_of,his )
If you have decided to translate all of this long quotation in such a way that there will not be quotations within quotations, you can continue doing that in this verse. Alternate translation: [the king of Assyria is telling you to make a blessing with him and come out to him. Then you will be able to eat, a man of his vine and a man of his fig tree, and drink, a man from the waters of his well]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
עֲשֽׂוּ־אִתִּ֤י בְרָכָה֙
(Some words not found in UHB: not listen to/towards Ḩizqiyyāh that/for/because/then/when thus he/it_had_said king ʼAshshūr make with,me peace and,come_out to=me and,eat (a)_man vine_of,his_own and,everyone_of fig_tree_of,his_own and,drink (a)_man water_of his_own_cistern_of,his )
Here, a blessing, meaning a gift, represents “a peace agreement,” since in this culture people exchanged gifts when they made peace agreements. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [Make a peace agreement with me]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
וְאִכְל֤וּ אִישׁ־גַּפְנוֹ֙ וְאִ֣ישׁ תְּאֵֽנָת֔וֹ וּשְׁת֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ מֵֽי־בוֹרֽוֹ

See how you translated the similar expression in [3:23](../03/23.md). Alternate translation: [and let each of you eat from his vine and fig tree, and let each of you drink from the waters of his well]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
