Here David is speaking of being rescued as if he had been squeezed into a narrow space and God brought him out to an open space. The image suggests that David had been in a dangerous situation with no way to escape, but God enabled him to escape. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [And he set me free from danger] or [And he rescued me from my desperate situation]
