If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Alternate translation: [Then, because it burned to him, the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of the heavens quaked and shook themselves]

The terms that the ULT translates as shook and shook themselves represent two different verbs in the original. Hebrew had more synonyms for this idea than some other languages may have. David expresses some of these with the verbs translated as trembled and quaked. It may be necessary for you to use the same words rather than different ones. However, if you do have a variety of terms for this, it would be appropriate to use different words for shook and shook themselves.

David is speaking as if the earth and the foundations of the mountains were actually a person who could shake and tremble. This expresses how powerfully God responded to David’s prayer.
