This could mean: (1) that David is saying that by God’s help, he can pursue and overtake a troop. He may be recalling how he and his men were able to overtake the Amalekite “troop” ([1 Samuel 30:8](../../1sa/30/08.md)) that had raided Ziklag and rescue their families and possessions. Alternate translation: [I can pursue and overtake a raiding band], or (2) that David is saying that by God’s help, he can directly attack and disperse an opposing group of soldiers. Alternate translation: [I can run through a troop] or [I can attack and disperse an opposing troop]

David is speaking of successfully leading troops to capture a fortified city as if he and they would leap over its walls. He may be recalling how he and his soldiers were able to capture the stronghold of Zion in Jerusalem ([2 Samuel 5:6–9](../../2sa/05/06.md)).
