OET (OET-LV) And having_been_sent_away, they_came to their own, and they_reported as_much_as the chief_priests and the elders said to them.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
ἀπολυθέντες
/having_been/_sent_away
If it would be helpful in your language, you could state this with an active form, and you could state who did the action. Alternate translation: [after the council members had released Peter and John]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / go
ἦλθον πρὸς τοὺς ἰδίους
˱they˲_came to their own
In a context such as this, your language might say “went” instead of came. Alternate translation: [they went to their own people]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
τοὺς ἰδίους
their own
The phrase their own people refers to the community of believers in Jesus. Alternate translation: [the other believers]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / merism
οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι
the chief_priests and the elders
As Peter does in 4:8, here Luke is referring to the entire council by naming its two components. Alternate translation: [the members of the Sanhedrin]
4:23-31 The believers heard the report that their leaders had been threatened and commanded never again to speak about Jesus (4:18). The Christian movement was clearly under attack from the religious authorities, so they united in prayer. They turned to God, placing their troubles before him and asking him to make them bold in speaking the message and to divinely confirm its truth with signs and wonders. God dramatically answered their request.
OET (OET-LV) And having_been_sent_away, they_came to their own, and they_reported as_much_as the chief_priests and the elders said to them.
OET (OET-RV) After Peter and Yohan had been released, they went to their own group and told them what the chief priests and elders had said.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
