OET (OET-LV)Therefore again Petros disowned, and immediately a_rooster crowed.

OET (OET-RV)But Peter again denied it, and just then a rooster crowed.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

πάλιν οὖν ἠρνήσατο Πέτρος

again therefore disowned Peter

Here, it refers to Peter knowing and being with Jesus. If this use of it might confuse your readers, you could express the meaning explicitly. Alternate translation: [Peter then denied again that he knew Jesus or had been with him]

Note 2 topic: translate-unknown

ἀλέκτωρ

/a/_rooster

See how you translated rooster in 13:38.

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

18:1-40 After completing his farewell in the upper room (13:31–17:26), Jesus left the city and entered a garden just east of Jerusalem to pray. Here he was arrested, taken under guard into the city, and interrogated by the Jewish leaders. The climactic “time” that Jesus referred to repeatedly throughout the Gospel (see 2:4; see also study note on 12:23) was now at hand.

OET (OET-RV)But Peter again denied it, and just then a rooster crowed.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
