The psalmist is making a comparison between his enemies and bees. The point of this comparison is that just as bees swarm around aggressively when attacking, so his enemies surrounded him aggressively. If it would be helpful in your language, you could make this point explicitly. Alternate translation: [They surrounded me like bees do when they are attacking someone]
