24.15 Dum fabularentur. TSNTyndale Study Notes:

24:13-34 This account is Luke’s unique contribution to the resurrection narratives. Jesus corrected these disciples’ misunderstanding by showing from Scripture that it was necessary for the Messiah to suffer. He then opened their eyes to the truth of his resurrection.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-newevent

καὶ ἐγένετο

and ˱it˲_became

Luke uses this phrase to introduce a significant development in this episode. Use a word, phrase, or other method in your language that is natural for this purpose.

Note 2 topic: writing-pronouns

αὐτὸς Ἰησοῦς

himself Jesus

The word himself emphasizes the fact that it was truly Jesus who joined them as they walked. This was not a vision in which Jesus only appeared to be there. Alternate translation: [Jesus, risen from the dead]

ἐγγίσας, συνεπορεύετο αὐτοῖς

/having/_neared /was/_going_with ˱with˲_them

Alternate translation: [caught up with them and walked along with them]
