OET (OET-LV)And_ Yəhōshūˊa _he/it_said to all_of the_people thus YHWH he_says the_god_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) in/on/at/with_beyond_of the_river they_dwelt ancestors_of_your_all’s from_long_ago/eternity Terah the_father_of ʼAⱱrāhām and_father_of Nāḩōr and_served gods other.

OET (OET-RV)and Yehoshua told all the people, “Yahweh, the God of Israel says: Your ancestors including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates river from long ago, but they worshipped other gods.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / quotesinquotes

כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָה֮ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ & יָשְׁב֤וּ אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙

thus he/it_had_said YHWH god_of Yisrael & lived ancestors_of,your_all's

If it would be clearer in your language, you could translate this so that there is not a quotation within a quotation. See the discussion in the General Notes to this chapter of how you can do this through the end of this second-level quotation in verse 13. Alternate translation: “Yahweh, the God of Israel, is telling you that your fathers dwelled”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙

ancestors_of,your_all's

As the General Notes to this chapter discuss, Yahweh is speaking of the ancestors of the Israelites as if they were their actual fathers. If it would be clearer in your language, you could state the meaning plainly, here and throughout this chapter. Alternate translation: “your ancestors”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

הַנָּהָ֗ר

the=river

Yahweh assumes that the Israelites will know that by the river, he means the Euphrates River. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: “the Euphrates River”

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis

תֶּ֛רַח אֲבִ֥י אַבְרָהָ֖ם וַאֲבִ֣י נָח֑וֹר

Terah father_of ʼAⱱrāhām and=father_of Nāḩōr

Yahweh is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: “Your ancestor was Terah, who was the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

24:2 Terah: See Gen 11:27-32.
