Here, the word Therefore introduces a conclusion that is based on what Jesus has said in [7:21–23](../07/21.md) and perhaps also what he said in [7:15–20](../07/15.md). Jesus compares those who do what he has said to a person who builds his house on the rock, where it is secure and not easily knocked down. He means that people who do what he has said can be as confident about how God will judge them as the wise man is confident about the security of his house.
