Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / reduplication
נָת֣וֹן נִתֵּ֑ן
to_give give
The men are repeating forms of the verb give in order to intensify the idea that it expresses. If your language can repeat words for intensification, it would be appropriate to do that here in your translation. If not, your language may have another way of expressing the emphasis. Alternate translation: [We will certainly give you what you want!]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / genericnoun
וַיַּשְׁלִ֣יכוּ & אִ֖ישׁ
and,threw & (a)_man
As in the previous verse, this is not referring to a specific man. Alternate translation: [and each man threw]
