MSG(8-16)“If I were in your shoes, I’d go straight to God,
  I’d throw myself on the mercy of God.
After all, he’s famous for great and unexpected acts;
  there’s no end to his surprises.
He gives rain, for instance, across the wide earth,
  sends water to irrigate the fields.
He raises up the down-and-out,
  gives firm footing to those sinking in grief.
He aborts the schemes of conniving crooks,
  so that none of their plots come to term.
He catches the know-it-alls in their conspiracies—
  all that intricate intrigue swept out with the trash!
Suddenly they’re disoriented, plunged into darkness;
  they can’t see to put one foot in front of the other.
But the downtrodden are saved by God,
  saved from the murderous plots, saved from the iron fist.
And so the poor continue to hope,
  while injustice is bound and gagged.

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

5:9-16 Eliphaz’s doxology praised God as the wonder-working Creator and Sustainer of the universe (5:9-10) and as the righteous Judge who brings down the powerful and lifts up the poor (5:11-16).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

לָשׂ֣וּם שְׁפָלִ֣ים לְמָר֑וֹם וְ֝קֹדְרִ֗ים שָׂ֣גְבוּ יֶֽשַׁע׃

to,sets lowly on,high and,mourn lifted (Some words not found in UHB: to,sets lowly on,high and,mourn lifted safety )

Eliphaz is speaking as if God would literally put lowly people and people who are mourning in high places. He means that God will protect them and honor them. If it would be clearer in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. It may be helpful to begin a new sentence here. Alternate translation: “God honors lowly people and protects people who are mourning”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / nominaladj

שְׁפָלִ֣ים

lowly

Eliphaz is using the adjective lowly as a noun to mean a certain kind of person. Your language may use adjectives in the same way. If not, you can translate this word with an equivalent phrase. Alternate translation: “lowly people”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

יֶֽשַׁע׃

(Some words not found in UHB: to,sets lowly on,high and,mourn lifted safety )

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of safety, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “where they are safe”
