OET (OET-LV)And_he/it_went_out in_the_day the_second and_see/lo/see two men Hebrew [were]_struggling_together and_he/it_said to_the_wrong to/for_what are_you_striking neighbor_your.

OET (OET-RV) The next day, he went out again and wow, two Hebrew men were fighting each other, and he said to the man in the wrong, “Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / go

וַיֵּצֵא֙

and=he/it_went_out

See how you translated this in Exodus 2:11.

Note 2 topic: translate-ordinal

הַשֵּׁנִ֔י

the=second

The ordinal number here could mean “the next day” (UST) or simply on some day following the events of the previous verse.

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / exclamations

וְהִנֵּ֛ה

and=see/lo/see!

Here, behold shows that Moses was surprised by what he saw. You can use a word in your language that will give this meaning.

לָֽרָשָׁ֔ע

to_the,wrong

Based on Moses’ question, this means the aggressor or the man wrongfully attacking his neighbor. Alternate translation: “the man who was guilty of starting the fight”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

2:13 Moses, who had put himself at risk to prevent an Egyptian from beating a Hebrew, must have been especially angered to see a Hebrew beating up a fellow Hebrew.
