OET (OET-LV) If/because you you_have_separated_them to/for_yourself(m) to_an_inheritance from_all the_peoples_of the_earth/land just_as you_spoke by_the_hand_of Mosheh servant_of_your when_you_brought_out DOM ancestors_of_our from_Miʦrayim my_master YHWH.
OET (OET-RV) Because you yourself separated them for yourself as a special possession out of all the people groups in the world, just as you said through your servant Mosheh when you brought our ancestors out from Egypt, my master Yahweh.”
Note 1 topic: writing-pronouns
אַתָּ֞ה הִבְדַּלְתָּ֤ם
(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when you(ms) you,have_separated_them to/for=yourself(m) to,an_inheritance from=all peoples_of the=earth/land just=as promised by,the_hand_of Mosheh servant_of,your when,you,brought_out DOM ancestors_of,our from=Miʦrayim/(Egypt) my=master GOD )
Solomon is stating the pronoun you separately, even though the verb translated as you separated already includes this meaning. He is doing that to emphasize the personal role of Yahweh in separating the Israelites from all the other peoples of the earth. If a speaker of your language would use an explicit pronoun for the same purpose, you may want to use that construction in your translation. If not, your language may have other ways of showing the meaning here. See how you translated the similar expression “you, you swore” in in [1:17](../01/17.md). Alternate translation: [you personally separated them]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
לְֽנַחֲלָ֔ה
to,an_inheritance
See how you translated the similar expression in [8:51](../08/51.md). Alternate translation: [so that they would belong to you perpetually]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבַּ֜רְתָּ בְּיַ֣ד ׀ מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַבְדֶּ֗ךָ
(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when you(ms) you,have_separated_them to/for=yourself(m) to,an_inheritance from=all peoples_of the=earth/land just=as promised by,the_hand_of Mosheh servant_of,your when,you,brought_out DOM ancestors_of,our from=Miʦrayim/(Egypt) my=master GOD )
Here, hand represents the agency of a person. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [just as you spoke through the agency of Moses your servant] or [just as you told Moses your servant to tell the Israelites]
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
