OET (OET-LV) For/Because the eager_expectation of_the creation, the revelation of_the sons of_ the _god is_eagerly_waiting.

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-words-phrases
γὰρ
for
For indicates how what follows this word relates to what came before it. Here, it indicates that this verse gives additional support for what Paul said in 8:17. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a different expression. Alternate translation: “In fact,”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
ἡ & ἀποκαραδοκία τῆς κτίσεως & ἀπεκδέχεται
the & eager_expectation ˱of˲_the creation & /is/_eagerly_waiting
Here, the eager expectation is an idiom Paul uses to emphasize how eagerly the creation is waiting. He does not mean that the eager expectation itself is waiting. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “the creation is very eagerly expecting” or “the creation is eagerly expecting with much eagerness”
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / personification
ἡ & ἀποκαραδοκία τῆς κτίσεως & ἀπεκδέχεται
the & eager_expectation ˱of˲_the creation & /is/_eagerly_waiting
Here Paul speaks of the creation as if it were a person who eagerly expects something. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a simile. Alternate translation: “it is as if the creation is eagerly expecting with eager expectation”
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns
τῆς κτίσεως & τὴν ἀποκάλυψιν τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ
˱of˲_the creation & (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἡ γὰρ ἀποκαραδοκία τῆς κτίσεως τὴν ἀποκάλυψιν τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ ἀπεκδέχεται)
If your language does not use abstract nouns for the ideas of creation and revelation, you could express the same ideas in another way. Alternate translation: “of the created things … the sons of God to be revealed”
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
τὴν ἀποκάλυψιν τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ
the revelation ˱of˲_the sons ¬the ˱of˲_God
If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “for the time when God will reveal his sons”
Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ
˱of˲_the sons ¬the ˱of˲_God
See how you translated this phrase in 8:14.
8:19-21 All creation includes animals, plants, and the earth itself. Paul follows Old Testament precedent (see especially Ps 65:12-13; Isa 24:4; Jer 4:28; 12:4) by personifying the created world.
• waiting eagerly . . . looks forward: Just as the entire world was harmed by Adam’s fall into sin, it will share in the blessings that God has promised his people (e.g., Isa 4:2, Rev 21:1-2).
OET (OET-LV) For/Because the eager_expectation of_the creation, the revelation of_the sons of_ the _god is_eagerly_waiting.
OET (OET-RV) because all of creation is eagerly expecting and waiting for God’s children to be revealed.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
