OET (OET-LV)A_people great and_numerous and_tall as_as_the_ˊAnāqī and_destroyed_them YHWH from_their_face/front and_dispossessed_them and_they_lived in_place_their.

OET (OET-RV)They were as numerous, and as tall and strong as the Anakites, but Yahweh destroyed them in advance of the Anakites who then dispossessed them and lived in their place.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-pronouns

וַיַּשְׁמִידֵ֤ם יְהוָה֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיִּירָשֻׁ֖ם וַיֵּשְׁב֥וּ תַחְתָּֽם

and,destroyed,them YHWH from=their=face/front and,dispossessed,them and=they_lived in_~_place,their

Here, the pronoun them refers to the Raphaites. The pronoun their in the first clause refers to the Ammonites. The pronoun their in the second clause refers to the Raphaites. If this is not clear for your readers, you could repeat the names of the people groups. Alternate translation: [But Yahweh destroyed the Raphaites from the Ammonites’ faces, and the Ammonites dispossessed the Raphaites and lived in their place]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / synecdoche

מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם

from=their=face/front

Here, faces represents the Ammonite people themselves. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression from your language or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [from before them]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

2:2-25 Num 21:10-20 covers the same time period.
