OET (OET-RV) because your god Yahweh has blessed all of your labour—he’s always been aware of your travel through that vast wilderness. Your god Yahweh has helped you for those forty years so you’ve all had everything you need.” ’
Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result
כִּי֩
that/for/because/then/when
The word translated as For indicates that what follows is a reason for the Israelites not to take anything from Esau’s descendants without paying for it. They don't need to take things, because Yahweh has proven that he will provide for them. Use a connector in your language that makes it clear that what follows is a reason for what came before. Alternate translation: [You do not need to take anything from them because]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / youcrowd
אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ בֵּֽרַכְךָ֗ & יָדֶ֔ךָ & לֶכְתְּךָ֔ & אֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ לֹ֥א חָסַ֖רְתָּ
God_of,your blessed,you & hands_of,your & journey,your & God_of,your with,you not lacked
Even though Moses is speaking to all the Israelites, you and your are singular in this verse. If the singular forms of these pronouns would not be natural in your language, you could use the plural forms in your translation.
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / synecdoche
מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יָדֶ֔ךָ
work_of hands_of,your
Moses is using hand to represent all of a person. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [your work]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
יָדַ֣ע לֶכְתְּךָ֔ אֶת־הַמִּדְבָּ֥ר הַגָּדֹ֖ל הַזֶּ֑ה
knowing journey,your DOM the,wilderness the=big/great(sg) the=this
The implication is that Yahweh has known everything that happened to the Israelites when they were walking through the great wilderness. You could include this information if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [He has known all that happened to you during your walking through this great wilderness]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ
YHWH God_of,your with,you
As God, Yahweh is always everywhere. The implication is that Yahweh was with the Israelites in a special way. Alternate translation: [Yahweh your God has been with you in a special way]
Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / litotes
לֹ֥א חָסַ֖רְתָּ דָּבָֽר
not lacked thing
Moses is using a figure of speech here that expresses a strongly positive meaning by using a negative word, not, together with an expression that is the opposite of his intended meaning. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express the positive meaning. Alternate translation: [You have received all things that you needed] or [Yahweh has supplied you with everything you need]
2:2-25 Num 21:10-20 covers the same time period.
OET (OET-LV) If/because YHWH god_of_your blessed_you in/on/at/with_all_of the_work_of hands_of_your he_has_known journey_your DOM the_wilderness the_big/great(sg) the_this this forty year[s] YHWH god_of_your with_you not you_have_lacked anything.
OET (OET-RV) because your god Yahweh has blessed all of your labour—he’s always been aware of your travel through that vast wilderness. Your god Yahweh has helped you for those forty years so you’ve all had everything you need.” ’
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
