uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / merism

לְעֵ֥ת עֶ֨רֶב֙ & בְּטֶ֥רֶם בֹּ֖קֶר

to,a_time_of evening & before, morning

Isaiah is referring to the entire night by naming its two boundaries, the time of evening and Before morning, to emphasize the swiftness of the enemy’s destruction. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [As night approaches … before dawn]

Note 2 topic: writing-foreground

וְהִנֵּ֣ה בַלָּהָ֔ה

and=see/lo/see! terror

Isaiah is using the term behold to focus his listeners’ attention on what he is about to say. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation. Alternate translation: [and look, terror]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

אֵינֶ֑נּוּ

it_[is],not

Isaiah is using he is not as a common expression of the culture to mean “he has ceased to exist” or “he is gone.” If this phrase does not have that meaning for your readers, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [he is gone] or [he is no more]

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / doublet

זֶ֚ה חֵ֣לֶק שׁוֹסֵ֔ינוּ וְגוֹרָ֖ל לְבֹזְזֵֽינוּ

this fate_of of,[those_who]_plunder_us and_[the],lot of,[those_of,who]_despoil_us

The phrases portion of our plunderers and lot of our looters mean similar things. Isaiah is using the two phrases together for emphasis. If it would be clearer for your readers, you could express the emphasis with a single phrase. Alternate translation: [This is what our plunderers and our looters get for their effort]
