uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

נִבְזֶה֙ וַחֲדַ֣ל אִישִׁ֔ים

despised and,rejected_of men

The expression was despised and rejected is a passive verbal form. If it would be unnatural to use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [Men despised and rejected him]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

אִ֥ישׁ מַכְאֹב֖וֹת וִיד֣וּעַ חֹ֑לִי

(a)_man suffering and_[one],acquainted_of sickness

Isaiah is using a man of sorrows and acquainted of grief as a common expression of the culture to mean “a person who has experienced much suffering.” If this phrase does not have that meaning for your readers, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [a person who has experienced much suffering]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / simile

וּכְמַסְתֵּ֤ר פָּנִים֙ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ

and,like,a_hiding_of faces from=him/it

The point of this comparison is that just as people hide their faces from something they do not want to look at, so people turned away from the servant because they despised him. If it would be helpful in your language, you could make this point explicitly. Alternate translation: [and just as people hide their faces from something they do not want to look at, people turned their backs to him]
