OET (OET-LV) And_he was_pierced for_transgressions_of_our he_was_crushed for_iniquities_of_our the_chastening_of peace_of_our on/upon/above_him/it and_in/on/at/with_wounds_of_his it_was_healed to/for_us.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / parallelism
(Occurrence 0) But he was pierced because of our rebellious deeds; he was crushed because of our sins
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he pierced for,transgressions_of,our crushed for,iniquities_of,our punishment_of peace_of,our on/upon/above=him/it and,in/on/at/with,wounds_of,his healed to/for=us )
These two phrases share similar meanings and emphasize that the servant suffered because of the people’s sins. If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “God allowed the enemy to stab him and kill him because of our sins” (See also: figs-activepassive)
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
(Occurrence 0) The punishment for our peace was on him
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he pierced for,transgressions_of,our crushed for,iniquities_of,our punishment_of peace_of,our on/upon/above=him/it and,in/on/at/with,wounds_of,his healed to/for=us )
This refers to peace with God. This can be made explicit. Alternate translation: “He accepted this punishment so we could live in harmony”
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
(Occurrence 0) with his wounds we are healed
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he pierced for,transgressions_of,our crushed for,iniquities_of,our punishment_of peace_of,our on/upon/above=him/it and,in/on/at/with,wounds_of,his healed to/for=us )
If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “he healed us by his suffering of the wounds”
53:5 he was pierced: See also Zech 12:10.
• crushed . . . beaten . . . whipped: These were typically punishments for crimes. Sin is a crime against God.
• be whole: Hebrew shalom, usually translated “peace.” Shalom means to experience wholeness in body, in mind, and in relationships with others. The servant would be injured so that humanity can be whole and healthy in all aspects of life (see also Isa 57:18). We do not need to suffer divine condemnation for our sins because the servant has already done so (see Gal 1:4).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
