OET (OET-LV)And_he/it_said to_him/it if please I_have_found favour in/on/at/with_eyes_your and_show to/for_me a_sign that_you [are]_speaking with_me.

OET (OET-RV)“If indeed I’ve found favour in your eyes,” Gideon requested, “then show me a miracle so I’ll know that it’s God speaking to me.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

אִם & מָצָ֥אתִי חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ

if & found graciousness/kindness/favour/beauty in/on/at/with,eyes,your

Gideon is not using the word found to mean that he was intentionally searching for something. He is using it to refer to having something, as if he had found it. Alternate translation: “if in fact I have favor in your eyes”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

אִם & מָצָ֥אתִי חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ

if & found graciousness/kindness/favour/beauty in/on/at/with,eyes,your

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of favor, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “if in fact you have judged me favorably”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

6:11-32 Gideon encountered the angel of the Lord and emerged as a hero. He overthrew the syncretistic Baal cult of his family and town and called his people to fight in the Lord’s name.
