OET (OET-LV)Blessed are the ones hungering and thirsting the for_righteousness, because they will_be_being_satisfied.

OET (OET-RV)Those who are hungry and thirsty to obey God are blessed, because they will be satisfied.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result

μακάριοι οἱ πεινῶντες καὶ διψῶντες τὴν δικαιοσύνην, ὅτι αὐτοὶ χορτασθήσονται

blessed_‹are› the_‹ones› hungering and thirsting ¬the ˱for˲_righteousness because they /will_be_being/_satisfied

If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these clauses, since the second clause gives the reason for the result that the first clause describes. Alternate translation: “The ones hungering and thirsting for righteousness will be fed, so they are blessed”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

μακάριοι

blessed_‹are›

See how you translated this phrase in 5:3. Alternate translation: “God will bless” or “How good it is for”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

οἱ πεινῶντες καὶ διψῶντες τὴν δικαιοσύνην, ὅτι αὐτοὶ χορτασθήσονται

the_‹ones› hungering and thirsting ¬the ˱for˲_righteousness because they /will_be_being/_satisfied

Here Jesus speaks of desiring to do what is right as if it were hungering and thirsting for righteousness. He also speaks of becoming righteous and doing what is right as if it were being fed. He speaks in this way to indicate that these people desire righteousness as much as they desire food and drink. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express the idea in simile form or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “the ones who desire righteousness as if it were food or drink, for they will receive it as if they were being fed”

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

τὴν δικαιοσύνην

¬the ˱for˲_righteousness

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of righteousness, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “for what is just” or “to be righteous”

Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

αὐτοὶ χορτασθήσονται

they /will_be_being/_satisfied

If your language does not use this passive form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “God will feed them”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

5:6 those who hunger and thirst for justice (or for righteousness): This refers either to the follower of Jesus whose driving purpose in life is to obey the Lord (cp. 3:15; 5:10, 20) or to the disciple’s desire to see justice for all people (Pss 11:7; 85:10-12; Isa 11:1-4; Jer 23:5-6; 33:16). One with such a longing often prays, “May your will be done on earth” (Matt 6:10).
• Christ has brought justice and righteousness (Rom 3:21-22; 5:1); the disciples will be satisfied with it (cp. Pss 42:1-2; 63:1-2).
