TSNTyndale Study Notes:

29:21-25 Sacrifices followed the speeches and prayers at Solomon’s coronation. Solomon and Zadok were anointed, and Solomon acceded to the throne. Zadok was not beginning his priestly role but was being dedicated to serve in the Temple itself. (The descendants of Zadok are mentioned in Ezek 40:46; 43:19; 44:15; 48:11.)

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / parallelism

(Occurrence 0) Yahweh greatly honored Solomon before all Israel … bestowed on him greater power

(Some words not found in UHB: and,exalted YHWH DOM Shəlomoh to,upward, in,sight all/each/any/every Yisrael and=he/it_gave on/upon/above=him/it majesty royal which/who not it_became on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in all/each/any/every king before,face/front,him on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in Yisrael )

These two phrases emphasize that Solomon received special favor from Yahweh, which made him Israel’s greatest and most powerful king.
