TSNTyndale Study Notes:

44:1-31 Now that the glory of the Lord had returned to the Temple, questions of access were critical. Who could approach this holy God? Like ch 43, this chapter is concerned with the Temple’s entrances and exits, as well as the duties and procedures associated with its use.

(Some words not found in UHB: and,brought,me way gate the,north to/towards face/surface_of the,temple and,looked and=see/lo/see! filled glory YHWH DOM house_of YHWH and,fell to/towards face,my )

This could mean: (1) “Then the man” or (2) “Then Yahweh.”

(Some words not found in UHB: and,brought,me way gate the,north to/towards face/surface_of the,temple and,looked and=see/lo/see! filled glory YHWH DOM house_of YHWH and,fell to/towards face,my )

The word “behold” here shows that Ezekiel was surprised by what he saw.

(Occurrence 0) the glory of Yahweh

(Some words not found in UHB: and,brought,me way gate the,north to/towards face/surface_of the,temple and,looked and=see/lo/see! filled glory YHWH DOM house_of YHWH and,fell to/towards face,my )

See how you translated this in Ezekiel 1:28.

(Some words not found in UHB: and,brought,me way gate the,north to/towards face/surface_of the,temple and,looked and=see/lo/see! filled glory YHWH DOM house_of YHWH and,fell to/towards face,my )

“I bowed down to the ground” or “I lay on the ground.” Ezekiel did not fall by accident. He went down to the ground to show that he respected and feared Yahweh. See how you translated this in Ezekiel 1:28.
