Here, fathers means “ancestors.” Alternate translation: [the God of your ancestors] or [the God whom your ancestors worshiped]

The repetition of generation is indicating “to each and every generation” which means “for all people at all times.” If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language.
