Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / synecdoche
נַפְשׁ֑וֹ וְ֝חַיָּת֗וֹ
soul_of,his and,life_of,his
Elihu is using parts of a person, his soul and his life, to mean all of him in the act of approaching death. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [he … and he draws near]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
לַֽמְמִתִֽים
to_the,bring_death
Elihu may be referring implicitly to specific angels who were believed to be agents through whom God caused people to die. (There are suggestions of this in [2 Samuel 24:16](../2sa/24/16.md) and [Psalm 78:49](../psa/78/49.md).) You could indicate that in your translation if it would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [to the angels of death]
