Claim: Jesus died

OET 1Cor 15:3-4

3Yes, first of all, I passed onto you all what I myself had received: that Messiah died for our sins as the scriptures had predicted,[ref] 4and that he was buried and then brought back to life on the third day as per the scriptures again,[ref]

3For/Because I_gave_over to_you_all in the_first place, what also I_received:
that chosen_one/messiah died_off for the sins of_us according_to the scriptures,
4and that he_was_buried, and that he_has_been_raised on_the day the third according_to the scriptures,

4:1 Yeshua is our high priest

14So then, having Yeshua the son of God who came from and returned to the heavens as our high priest, we need to hold firmly to what we say we believe, 15because we don’t have a high priest who’s not able to sympathise with our weakness, but rather who’s been tempted just like we are yet he didn’t sin.

14Therefore having a_chief_priest great, having_passed_through the heavens, Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa), the son of_ the _god, we_may_be_taking_hold of_our confession.
15For/Because not we_are_having a_chief_priest not being_able to_sympathize with_the weaknesses of_us, but having_been_tempted in all things by likeness without sin.

Claim: God cannot be tempted

OET Yac (Jam) 1:13

13No one should say ‘It’s God tempting me’ when they’re being tempted, because God can’t be tempted to do evil and he doesn’t tempt others,

For/Because the god untemptable is by_evil, and is_tempting he no_one.

Whatever he’s said, he’ll do it.

Anything he promised, he’ll make it happen.

18And_uttered oracle_his and_said arise Oh_Bālāq and_hear listen to_me his/its_son of_Tsipōr/(Zippor).

OET Yhn (Jhn) 5:18-19

18Because of this, the leaders became determined that he must be put to death—not just because he broke the rules for the rest day, but most of all because he was calling God his own father, thus making himself equal to God!

5:19 Authority over life is given to the son

19So Yeshua responded to them, “I want to tell you all something: The son can’t initiate anything by himself. He can only do what he sees his father doing, because whatever his father is doing, he also does things like that.

18Therefore because_of this, the Youdaiōns were_ more _seeking him to_kill_off, because he_was_ not only _breaking the day_of_rest, but also he_was_calling god ^his_own father the, making himself equal to_ the _god.

OET Mark 2:1-12

2:1 Yeshua heals a paralysed man

(Mat. 9:1-8, Luke 5:17-26)

2When Yeshua came back to Capernaum after a few days, people soon heard that he was back in the house. 2And so many people turned up there that there wasn’t any room left—not even in the doorway. Inside, Yeshua was explaining the Scriptures to them. 3Four men arrived, carrying a paralysed man to Yeshua, 4but because of the crowd, they were unable to get close. So they climbed up onto the flat roof, made a hole through it, and lowered the paralysed man lying on a pallet. 5Yeshua, observing their faith, said to the man, “Son, your sins are forgiven![fn]

6But some of the religious teachers were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7“Why’s he talking like that? He’s seriously insulting God. There’s only one who can forgive sins, and that’s God himself.”

8Then Yeshua, knowing in his spirit that they are thinking like that, said to them, “Why are you thinking that to yourselves? 9Which is easier: to tell the paralysed man that his sins have been forgiven, or to tell him to pick up his bedding and walk? 10But so you all can see that humanity’s child does have authority here on the earth to forgive sins,” he turned and said to the paralysed man, 11Listen. Get up, take your bedding, and go home!

12So the man stood up, and picked up his bedding, and went out of the house where everyone saw him and marvelled and praised God saying, “We’ve never seen anything happen like this before!”

2:5 Yeshua’s hearers would have taken this as a claim to be God, as they knew that only God could forgive sins.

2And having_come_in again into Kafarnaʼoum through days, it_was_heard that he_is in the_house.
2And many were_gathered_together so_that no_longer to_be_having_room, not even which at the door, and he_was_speaking the message to_them.
3And they_are_coming bringing a_paralytic to him, being_carried by four.
4And not being_able to_bring to_him because_of the crowd, they_unroofed the roof where he_was, and having_dug_ it _out, they_are_lowering the pallet where the paralytic was_lying.
5And the Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) having_seen the faith of_them, he_is_saying to_the paralytic:
Child, the sins of_you have_been_forgiven.
6But some of_the scribes were there, sitting and reasoning in the hearts of_them, 7Why is_ this man _speaking thus?
He_is_slandering.
Who is_able to_be_forgiving sins, except not/lest one, the god?
8And the Yaʸsous immediately having_known in_the spirit of_him that they_are_reasoning thus in themselves, he_is_saying to_them:
Why these things you_all_are_reasoning in the hearts of_you_all?
9Which is easier, to_say to_the paralytic:
The sins have_been_forgiven to_you.
or to_say:
Be_raising and take_up the pallet of_you and be_walking?
10But in_order_that you_all_may_have_known that the son of_ the _man is_having authority on the earth to_be_forgiving sins, (he_is_saying to_the paralytic), 11To_you I_am_saying, be_raising, take_up the pallet of_you, and be_going to the home of_you.
12And he_was_raised, and immediately having_taken_up the pallet, he_came_out before all so_as all to_be_marvelling and to_be_glorifying the god saying, that We_ never _saw thus.

OET Mat 9:1-9

9:1 Yeshua forgives and heals a paralysed man

(Mark 2:1-12, Luke 5:17-26)

9So Yeshua got into a boat and crossed back over to his own city of Capernaum. 2Some people there brought a paralysed man to him lying on a stretcher. And when Yeshua saw their faith, he said to the man, “Son, be encouraged. Your sins are forgiven.”

3Immediately some of the law teachers said among themselves, “This man presumes to be God.”

4But Yeshua knew their thoughts and said, “Why are you thinking evil things in your hearts? 5Do you think it’s easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up and walk’? 6But so that you will know that humanity’s child has the authority here on earth to forgive sins,” he said, “stand up, take your stretcher, and go to your house.”

7Then the man stood up and went off to his house. 8The crowds were struck with fear after seeing this, yet they praised God for giving such authority to men.

9:9 Yeshua calls Matthew and they dine with ‘sinners’

(Mark 2:13-17, Luke 5:27-32)

9And as Yeshua was leaving there, he saw a man called Matthew (also known as Levi) sitting in the tax office. He said to Matthew, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.

9And having_boarded into a_boat, he_crossed_over and came to his own city.
2And see, they_were_bringing a_paralytic to_him having_been_laid on a_bed.
And the Yaʸsous having_seen the faith of_them, he_said to_the paralytic:
Be_having_courage, child, the sins of_you are_being_forgiven.
3And see, some of_the scribes said among themselves:
This man is_slandering.
4And the Yaʸsous having_seen the thoughts of_them said:
For/Because_ why _reason are_you_all_considering evil in the hearts of_you_all?
5For/Because which is easier to_say:
The sins of_you are_being_forgiven, or to_say:
Be_raising and be_walking?
6But in_order_that you_all_may_have_known that the son of_ the _man is_having authority on the earth to_be_forgiving sins (then he_is_saying to_the paralytic):
Having_been_raised, take_up the bed of_you and be_going to the house of_you.
7And having_been_raised, he_went_away to the house of_him.
8But having_seen this, the crowds were_afraid and they_glorified the god, who having_given such authority to_ the _humans.
9And the Yaʸsous passing_by from_there, he_saw a_man being_called Matthaios sitting at the tax_office, and he_is_saying to_him.
Be_following after_me.
And having_risen_up, he_followed after_him.

OET Luke 5:17-26

5:1 A paralysed man is lowered through the roof

(Mark 2:1-12, Mat. 9:1-8)

17Yeshua was teaching one day, and some from the Pharisee party and some religious teachers were sitting there listening. They had come from villages all around Galilee and Yudea, and also from Yerushalem, and the power of Yahweh was there enabling Yeshua to heal people. 18Then, look, some men turned up carrying a paralysed man on a stretcher, and they tried to bring him inside and place him in front of Yeshua 19but because of the crowd they couldn’t find a way in. So instead, they went up the stairs to the flat roof and removed some tiles in order to let the stretcher down right in front of Yeshua. 20When he saw their faith, he said, “Man, your sins have been forgiven.”

21“Who’s this guy who’s insulting God?” the teachers and Pharisees started to say among themselves. “Only God is able to forgive sins.”

22But Yeshua knew what they were thinking and saying, and answered them, “Why are you reasoning about this in your minds? 23Which is easier to say: ‘Your sins have been forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up and walk’? 24But I’ll demonstrate to you that humanity’s child does have the authority to forgive sins here on earth.” Then he turned to the paralysed man and told him, “Listen to me. Stand up and pick up your stretcher, then go home.”

25Immediately the man stood up, right there in front of them all, picked up what he’d been lying on, and headed off to his home praising God. 26Everyone was astounded and they too praised God. But there was also a feeling of fear and they said, “We’ve witnessed something out-of-the-normal today!”

17And it_became on one of_the days, and he was teaching, and Farisaios_party and law_teachers were sitting, who they_were having_come out_of every village of_ the _Galilaia/(Gālīl), and of_Youdaia, and of_Hierousalaʸm/(Yərūshālayim).
And the_power of_the_master was there in_order that him to_be_healing.
18And see, men carrying a_man on a_bed who was having_been_paralyzed, and they_were_seeking to_carry_ him _in and to_put before him.
19And not having_found by_what way they_may_carry_ him _in because_of the crowd, having_gone_up on the housetop, they_let_ him _down through the tiles with the stretcher into the midst before the Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa).
20And having_seen the faith of_them he_said:
Man, the sins of_you have_been_forgiven to_you.
21And the scribes and the Farisaios_party began to_be_reasoning saying:
Who is this who is_speaking slander?
Who is_able to_be_forgiving sins except not/lest only the god?
22But the Yaʸsous having_known the speculations of_them, answering said to them:
Why you_all_are_reasoning in the hearts of_you_all?
23Which is easier, to_say, the sins of_you /Have_been_forgiven to_you, or to_say:
Be_raising and be_walking?
24But in_order_that you_all_may_have_known that the son of_ the _man is_having authority on the earth to_be_forgiving sins, he_said to_the one having_been_paralyzed:
to_you I_am_saying, be_raising, and having_taken_up the stretcher of_you, be_going to the house of_you.
25And immediately having_stood_up before them, having_taken_up on which he_was_lying, he_went_away to the home of_him glorifying the god.
26And amazement took all, and they_were_glorifying the god, and they_were_filled with_fear saying, that We_saw remarkable things today.
