Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. 33:1-20 Manasseh ruled fifty-five years (697–642 BC), longer than any other king in Judah. The years of his reign included a co-regency with his father, Hezekiah, from 697 to 686 BC. Such a long reign was usually a sign of blessing, even though Manasseh did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. So the Chronicler tells of his humiliation, repentance, and restoration of worship in Judah.
