Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed as a tool for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion
אִם־יָ֭בִין מִפְרְשֵׂי־עָ֑ב תְּ֝שֻׁא֗וֹת סֻכָּתֽוֹ
if understand spreading_of clouds thundering_of pavilion_of,his
Elihu is using the question form for emphasis. If you would not use the question form for that purpose in your language, you could translate this as a statement or as an exclamation. Alternate translation: [no one can understand how God makes clouds spread or how he makes thunder come from his hut!]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
סֻכָּתֽוֹ
pavilion_of,his
Elihu is speaking as if God literally lived in a hut in the sky. (He is using the same term that Job used in [27:18](../27/18.md) to describe a guard booth.) If it would be clearer in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [from his dwelling place in the sky]
