OET (OET-LV) And_because/when he_will_sojourn with_you a_sojourner and_celebrate a_passover to/for_YHWH he_will_be_circumcised to_him/it every male and_then he_will_draw_near to_celebrate_it and_it_was like_native the_earth/land and_all uncircumcised_[man] not he_will_eat in/on/over_him/it.
OET (OET-RV) and if someone is living among you and wants to join in Yahweh’s ‘pass-over’, then every male in their family must be circumcised. Only then will they be allowed to observe it, and then they should be considered like a native of the land. No uncircumcised person may eat it.
Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-condition-hypothetical
וְכִֽי־יָג֨וּר אִתְּךָ֜ גֵּ֗ר וְעָ֣שָׂה פֶסַח֮ לַיהוָה֒
and=because/when resides with,you alien and,celebrate passover to/for=YHWH
This is a two-part hypothetical situation. It describes the circumstance and desire of the sojourner; the next portion says what he must do. You will need to use whatever form your language uses to mark something as potentially true.
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / youcrowd
אִתְּךָ֜
with,you
Here, you is singular, however it is used to address a crowd. If the singular form would not be natural in your language for someone who was speaking to a group of people, you could use the plural forms of “you” in your translation.
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
הִמּ֧וֹל ל֣וֹ כָל־זָכָ֗ר
circumcised to=him/it all male
If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “someone must circumcise all males in his household”
Note 4 topic: grammar-connect-logic-goal
הִמּ֧וֹל ל֣וֹ כָל־זָכָ֗ר וְאָז֙ יִקְרַ֣ב לַעֲשֹׂת֔וֹ
circumcised to=him/it all male and,then come_near to,celebrate,it
The sojourner will be circumcised in order to draw near to keep the Passover. Some languages may need to place the purpose clause first. Alternate translation: “in order draw near to keep it all his males must be circumcised”
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
כְּאֶזְרַ֣ח הָאָ֑רֶץ
like,native the=earth/land
Here, land refers to Canaan—which is the land that the Israelites will soon live in. The expression a native of the land means a person who is a native Israelite. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: “those who are Israelites by birth”
Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / doublenegatives
וְכָל־עָרֵ֖ל לֹֽא־יֹ֥אכַל בּֽוֹ
and=all uncircumcised not eat in/on/over=him/it
If this double negative would be misunderstood in your language, you could translate it as a positive statement. Alternate translation: “And only a circumcised person may eat it”
12:43-50 These additional instructions for the observance of Passover relate primarily to outsiders (12:43) and foreigners (12:48). Perhaps the presence of the non-Israelite rabble (12:38) in the community prompted these instructions. The key factor was whether or not the person was willing to become fully identified with Israel and with the Lord by submitting to circumcision.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
