OET (OET-LV)And_ Shəʼēl _he/it_said and_what is_the_sound_of the_sheep the_this in/on/at/with_ears_of_my and_lowing_of the_cattle which I am_hearing.

OET (OET-RV)Then what’s that bleating of sheep that I can hear?” asked Shemuel. “And I’m sure I can hear cattle sounds too?”

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion

וּמֶ֛ה קֽוֹל־הַצֹּ֥אן הַזֶּ֖ה בְּאָזְנָ֑י וְק֣וֹל הַבָּקָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י שֹׁמֵֽעַ

and,what sound/voice the,sheep the=this in/on/at/with,ears_of,my and,lowing_of the,cattle which/who I hear

Samuel is using the question form for emphasis, in order to challenge what Saul has just said. If speakers of your language would not use the question form for that purpose, you could translate this as a statement. Alternate translation: [That cannot be true, because I hear the sound of a flock and the sound of cattle]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

בְּאָזְנָ֑י

in/on/at/with,ears_of,my

Samuel is using the term ears by association to mean hearing. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [that I am hearing]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

15:1-35 After Saul failed to obey God and completely destroy the Amalekites, God rejected him in even stronger terms than before (cp. 13:8-14).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
