OET (OET-LV) And_ Shəmūʼēl _came to Shāʼūl and_he/it_said to_him/it Shāʼūl be_blessed you to/for_YHWH I_have_carried_out DOM the_word_of YHWH.
OET (OET-RV) When Shemuel caught up with Sha’ul, Sha’ul told him, “May Yahweh bless you. I’ve followed Yahweh’s instructions.”
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
בָּר֤וּךְ אַתָּה֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה
blessed you(ms) to/for=YHWH
If your language does not use this passive form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [May Yahweh bless you]
Note 2 topic: writing-politeness
בָּר֤וּךְ אַתָּה֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה
blessed you(ms) to/for=YHWH
Saul is greeting Samuel with a customary, courteous expression of good wishes. In your translation, you can use a comparable expression from your language and culture.
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
הֲקִימֹ֖תִי אֶת־דְּבַ֥ר יְהוָֽה
carried_out DOM word/matter_of YHWH
Saul is speaking as if Yahweh’s word were an object that he could have raised up. If it would be clearer in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. See how you translated the similar expression in [15:11](../15/11.md). Alternate translation: [I have done what Yahweh commanded]
15:13 I have carried out the Lord’s command! Cp. 15:3. Saul apparently thought his actions were justified (15:15; cp. Lev 22:19). Samuel, however, cut through Saul’s pretense (1 Sam 15:17-19) and carried out God’s command himself (15:32-33).
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
