TSNTyndale Study Notes:

28:12 names on his shoulders (cp. Isa 9:6): The badge of office on the shoulder indicated what the person was really carrying. Thus, the high priest represented the people before God, and with his royal garments he represented the glory of God before the people.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

זִכָּרֹ֖ן & לְזִכָּרֹֽן

memorial & for,remembrance

The text does not specify if Yahweh or Aaron or someone else is the one being reminded by the stones. It also does not specify exactly what the reminder is of. Try to maintain this ambiguity if possible in your translation.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

לִפְנֵ֧י

to=(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before

Here, face represents the presence of Yahweh. Alternate translation: “in the presence of”
