OET (OET-LV)And_he/it_said ˊĒsāv there_[belongs] to_me much my_brother/kindred let_it_belong to/for_yourself(m) [that]_which to/for_you(fs).

OET (OET-RV) “I’ve got plenty, my brother,” said Esaw. “Keep what belongs to you.”

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-quotations

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר עֵשָׂ֖ו

and=he/it_said ˊĒsāv

What Esau says is in contrast to what Jacob said, but it may not be necessary to use a conjunction here at all. Do what is best in your language. Alternate translation: “Esau said to him,”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / infostructure

יֶשׁ לִ֣י רָ֑ב אָחִ֕י

there_is to=me enough my=brother/kindred

For some languages it is more natural to put the address my brother first in this quote. Some languages also have a special term for “younger brother” that fits well here. Do what is best in your language. Alternate translation: “My brother, I already own enough livestock”

יְהִ֥י לְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁר לָֽךְ

let_it_be to/for=yourself(m) which/who to/for=you(fs)

Alternate translation: “Keep what you own for yourself.” or “so keep your livestock for yourself.”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

33:1-17 Jacob’s long-anticipated meeting with his brother Esau turned out far better than he had feared. Esau’s changed heart is an example of how “God fights” (See 32:28). Earlier, he had cared little about the birthright (25:32-34); now he cared little for old grudges. Jacob recognized that God had intervened.
