The phrase God remembered is a common expression in the Bible that often means that God was paying special attention to certain people and was about to do something. Make sure that the way you translate this phrase does not imply that God had forgotten about Noah. Alternate translation: [God kept in mind] or [But God did not forget]

DOM Noaḩ

Noah is the person on whom the author is focusing here, but Noah’s family and all the animals are also included. Consider whether or not you need to make that explicit in your translation.

The phrase all the living things could mean: (1) all the creatures (2) all the wild animals. See how you translated “living thing” in Genesis [7:14](../07/14.md).

Some translations combine this phrase with the previous phrase and say, “and all the animals, both wild and tame, that were with him in the boat.” Alternate translation: [all the farm animals that were with him in the ark]

Notice that the floodwaters did not totally recede until [verse 14](../08/14.md), so the way you translate this clause should allow for that. Alternate translation: [so that the water started to recede] or [so that the water level started to go down]
