Here, the pronoun this could refer to: (1) what Jesus is about to say, beginning with the word because. Alternate translation: [Here is why] (2) what Jesus said in the previous two verses. Alternate translation: [That is why] or [For those reasons]

The pronoun them refers to the “crowd” that was standing on the shore of the sea to listen to Jesus (see [13:2](../13/02.md)). Express the idea as you did in [13:10](../13/10.md). Alternate translation: [to the crowd]

βλέποντες οὐ βλέπουσιν, καὶ ἀκούοντες οὐκ ἀκούουσιν, οὐδὲ συνίουσιν
