Note 1 topic: translate-symaction

(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_rose_up the=king and,he_tore DOM garments_of,his and,he_lay_down ground,to_[the] and=all servants_of,his standing torn_of clothes )

Tearing his clothes and lying on the ground were symbolic actions by which David showed extreme grief and distress. David’s servants similarly tore their clothes to show their grief. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could explain the significance of these actions in the text of your translation or in a footnote. Alternate translation: [and he showed his deep anguish by tearing his clothes and lying on the ground, and all his servants stood there, having also torn their clothes in grief]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

קְרֻעֵ֥י בְגָדִֽים

torn_of clothes

The expression torn of clothes is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [having torn their clothes]
