WMBB (Same as above)

MSG(1-5)God, the Master, spoke to me: “Son of man, preach. Give them the Message of God, the Master. Wail:
  “‘Doomsday!’
  Time’s up!
God’s big day of judgment is near.
Thick clouds are rolling in.
  It’s doomsday for the nations.
Death will rain down on Egypt.
  Terror will paralyze Ethiopia
When they see the Egyptians killed,
  their wealth hauled off,
  their foundations demolished,
And Ethiopia, Put, Lud, Arabia, Libya
  —all of Egypt’s old allies—
  killed right along with them.

NETEthiopia, Put, Lud, all the foreigners, Libya, and the people of the covenant land will die by the sword along with them.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) Cush and Put, Lydia and all Arabia, and Libya

(Some words not found in UHB: Kush and=Put and,Lud and=all the,arabia and,Libya and=the_sons earth/land the,covenant with=them in/on/at/with,sword fall )

These names refer to the people of these countries. Alternate translation: “The people of Cush and Put, Libya, and all Arabia, and Lydia”

Note 2 topic: translate-names

(Occurrence 0) Libya

(Some words not found in UHB: Kush and=Put and,Lud and=all the,arabia and,Libya and=the_sons earth/land the,covenant with=them in/on/at/with,sword fall )

Libya is a country west of Egypt.

(Occurrence 0) Lydia

(Some words not found in UHB: Kush and=Put and,Lud and=all the,arabia and,Libya and=the_sons earth/land the,covenant with=them in/on/at/with,sword fall )

This probably refers to the kingdom of Lydia which was in what is now Turkey.

(Some words not found in UHB: Kush and=Put and,Lud and=all the,arabia and,Libya and=the_sons earth/land the,covenant with=them in/on/at/with,sword fall )

Here the sword represents battle. Alternate translation: “will all die in battle” or “will all die in the war”

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole

(Some words not found in UHB: Kush and=Put and,Lud and=all the,arabia and,Libya and=the_sons earth/land the,covenant with=them in/on/at/with,sword fall )

The word “all” here is a generalization. It means that many people will die.
