OET (OET-LV) So_that they_may_believe if/because_that he_appeared to_you YHWH the_god_of fathers_of_their the_god_of ʼAⱱrāhām the_god_of Yiʦḩāq/(Isaac) and_god_of Yaˊₐqoⱱ/(Jacob).
OET (OET-RV) “That’s so that they’ll believe that I appeared to you: Yahweh—the God of their ancestors—the God of Abraham, Yitshak, and Yacob.”
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / quotemarks
לְמַ֣עַן יַאֲמִ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־נִרְאָ֥ה אֵלֶ֛יךָ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹתָ֑ם אֱלֹהֵ֧י אַבְרָהָ֛ם אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִצְחָ֖ק וֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב
so_that believe that/for/because/then/when he/it_appeared to,you YHWH god_of fathers_of,their god_of ʼAⱱrāhām god_of Yiʦḩāq/(Isaac) and,God_of Yaakob
This continues the direct quotation from the first part of 4:4. It may be more natural to reorganize verses four and five to keep the quote together. If you rearrange like this, Moses picking up the snake/staff should come after the full quotation. However, it is better to do something similar to the UST, which restates that Yahweh is speaking and provides some implied directives from Yahweh to make a complete sentence.
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis
לְמַ֣עַן יַאֲמִ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־נִרְאָ֥ה אֵלֶ֛יךָ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹתָ֑ם אֱלֹהֵ֧י אַבְרָהָ֛ם אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִצְחָ֖ק וֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב
so_that believe that/for/because/then/when he/it_appeared to,you YHWH god_of fathers_of,their god_of ʼAⱱrāhām god_of Yiʦḩāq/(Isaac) and,God_of Yaakob
This quote is not a complete sentence; the UST provides a clarification. If it would be helpful in your language, you could supply these words from the context.
Note 3 topic: writing-pronouns
יַאֲמִ֔ינוּ & אֲבֹתָ֑ם
believe & fathers_of,their
Here, them and their refer either to the Israelites or to the Israelite elders. God had instructed Moses to gather and speak to the elders; if you make this participant explicit, elders is a better option.
Note 4 topic: writing-pronouns
אֵלֶ֛יךָ
to,you
Here, you refers to Moses.
אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹתָ֑ם אֱלֹהֵ֧י אַבְרָהָ֛ם אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִצְחָ֖ק וֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב
god_of fathers_of,their god_of ʼAⱱrāhām god_of Yiʦḩāq/(Isaac) and,God_of Yaakob
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were three of their ancestors. They all worshiped the same God.
4:1-9 Moses’ third protest was that he lacked power. God answered in a very convincing demonstration of divine power by instantaneous creation of a snake and of a severe skin disease.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
