14.14 Quod cum audisset Abram, etc. ISID. Mystice.

14.14 That when/with audisset Abram, etc. ISID. Mystice. Similiter fides nostra when/with firmata it_is Spiritu principali, quinque sensus corporis as_if quinque reges subyicit, verbo of_God triumphans about homine exteriori. Ille in trecentis ten and octo adversarios debellavit, because we in sacramento crucis, how tau littera significat, which trecenta significat, quinque sensus carnales, we antea variis vitiis captivantes, superamus. Decem and octo, from ternario and senario multiplicatus, faith Trinitatis and perfectionem significat operis to_whom virtutum on_the_contrary vitia plena victoria perficitur. STRAB. Allegorice. Bellum Abræ when/with four regibus significat bellum virtutum and vitiorum. Pater therefore of_faith, and the_first road credendi, for fratre his_own Lot dimicavit and vicit, not/no in multitudine exercitus, but in trecentis ten and octo expeditis vernaculis. So quisque for anima his_own on_the_contrary spirituales nequitias bellum gerat when/with trecentis ten and octo vernaculis, id it_is, when/with auxilio sanctæ crucis: tau because littera, which habet figuram crucis, trecenta exprimit. Dan however unus it_is about fontibus Yordanis; alter because Yor vocatur, that interpretatur rivus; duobus therefore fontibus, who not/no procul from se distant, in one rivulum fœderatis, Yordanis appellatur.

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

14:14 Abram . . . mobilized the 318 trained men who had been born into his household: Abram was a formidable force, an outworking of God’s promise to make him great (12:2-3).
• Dan was a city about 150 miles north of Abram’s home in Hebron, then named Laish or Leshem (see Josh 19:47 and study note; Judg 18:29). Dan, whose descendants migrated north in the days of the judges (Judg 18:1-29), had not yet been born (Gen 30:6). An editor apparently updated the text so that later readers could identify this city.
