Translation Issues in This Chapter

- verse one may connect to chapter 28 more than chapter 29- the concept of “nose” for anger occurs frequently- the verb “cut” is used in relation to a covenant to mean “make a covenant”- there are several references to curses written in the book which require care because the phrase is passive and readers may have trouble identifying who wrote them, when they were written and what book Moses is referring to

Use of “you”

Throughout this chapter “you” is a mix of singular and plural. The majority are plural. All are singular in verses 3 and 12–13. Verses 5 and 11 are a mix, see notes there.
