TSNTyndale Study Notes:

27:1-22 The Lord ordered Jeremiah to send messages to the ambassadors from nearby countries to announce the Lord’s judgment upon them. He was to illustrate his message by wearing a wooden yoke. This event took place in 594–593 BC (see 28:1).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) I … am giving all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar … servant

(Some words not found in UHB: and=now I I_give DOM all/each/any/every the,lands the=these in/on/at/with,hand Nebukadnetstsar king Babel servant,my and=also DOM being/animal the=field I_give to=him/it to,serve,him )

The hand is a metonym for the power that the hand exercises, and the word “lands” is a metonym for the people who live in those lands. Alternate translation: “I … am putting the people who live in all these lands under the power of Nebuchadnezzar … servant”
