Consider what is the best way to translate this passive clause in your language to emphasize Joseph. Alternate translation: “Surely I was taken by force”

The Hebrew people were the descendants of Abraham (See: note at Gen 14:13), and Joseph’s people were known as Hebrews in Egypt (Gen 39:14, 17). Their land, which God gave them, was the land of Canaan (Gen 13:12, 14-15; 17:8, 23:19; 37:1). Some of that information could be put in a footnote. Alternate translation: “from the land where the Hebrew people live.”

Alternate translation: “to be put into this prison.” or “to deserve being in a prison.”
40:1-23 Joseph did not lose faith in God’s promises, as evidenced by his readiness to interpret the dreams of two prisoners. He was still convinced that God’s revelation in his own two dreams (37:5-11) was true, and he had not abandoned hope that they would be fulfilled. When the fellow prisoners’ dreams were fulfilled exactly as Joseph said, this confirmed that his previous dreams were from God.

OET (OET-RV) because indeed I was trafficked from the land of the Hebrews. And even here, I didn’t do anything to deserve being held in this pit.”
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Greek words that they’re translated from.
