וְלֹֽא־זָכַ֧ר שַֽׂר הַמַּשְׁקִ֛ים אֶת־יוֹסֵ֖ף וַיִּשְׁכָּחֵֽהוּ
and=not remember chief the,cupbearer DOM Yōşēf and,forgot,him
Alternate translation: “But the chief cupbearer did not remember to tell Pharaoh about Joseph, but instead, he forgot about him.” or “… completely forgot about Joseph and did not remember to tell Pharaoh about him.”
40:23 The cup-bearer . . . forgot all about Joseph, but God did not forget him. Joseph’s faith was about to be rewarded (ch 41).
