TSNTyndale Study Notes:

20:20-21 The song of the appointed singers replaced a battle cry. The prophets were Jahaziel (20:14-17) and the Levitical musicians (20:21), whose musical praise for the battle march was a prophecy, a declaration that God was at the head of the army.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

(Occurrence 0) his covenant faithfulness endures forever

(Some words not found in UHB: and,taken_counsel to/towards the,people and,appointed sing to/for=YHWH and,praise in,splendor_of holiness in/on/at/with,went_out to=(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before the,army and,saying give_thanks to/for=YHWH that/for/because/then/when to,forever steadfast_love_of,his )

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea behind the word faithfulness, you can express the same idea with a verbal form such as “faithfully” or “faithful.” See how you translated “covenant faithfulness” in [2 Chronicles 7:3](../07/03.md). Alternate translation: “he faithfully loves us forever” or “he is always faithful to his covenant with us”
