BrTr And if her father positively refuse, and will not consent to give her to him for a wife, he shall pay [fn]compensation to her father according to the amount of the dowry of virgins.

Lying with someone refers to having sex. This is a polite way of referring to something unpleasant. If this would be misunderstood in your language, use a different polite way of referring to this or you could state this plainly. Alternate translation: “if he has sex with her”
